Gradient tool; my new friend :)

Just a bit of an update from my Aye Aye project.
Me and the gradient tool have made friends lol
This is maybe the 16th version of the face
Think i generally have the face right now. pretty pleased but still got lots to do. Just thought id update you guys and let you know im still here :)

For those of you interested this was one of the previous versions, which is pretty damn awful

I spent the day just playing with the gradient tool to get more familiar with it and i think it helped. (also updating my wacom drivers so the pen pressure setting worked properly)

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

Hey guys! 2 blog posts in one week! *shock* lol

Just showing you how my project is going. Its one set by the awesome Chris Oatley. Im not going too much into it as i dont want to spoil anything. Go sign up if you want to know anymore :D it worth it

Basically pick an animal and a master painter portrait painting.

As you may guess, my chosen animal is an aye aye.

My aye aye anatomy studies compiled

 

 Now its just choosing a painting. i like 2 is the problem, i sketched it out to roughly how it may look but i still cant choose. Comment and let me know which you prefer:

Rembrandt "Bust of a young and Laughing woman" sketch, will be digitally painted (painting option 1)

Caravaggio "Boy Bitten by a Lizard" sketch, will be digitally painted (painting option 2)

 

 

The title of the post was my boyfriends response to seeing my sketches when i asked his opinion haha :D

Aye Aye Studies, Muscular, Facial and hands

Hi guys, just thought id do a short update incase you think ive abandoned you! (lol sorry got so absorbed with this i forgot about blogging!

Compared the skull of a human and an Aye Aye and made notes of approx measurements differences between the 2 species

Profiles and front view sketch after i had studied the skull. Fell that these are leaps and bounds better than my previous studies, just from looking at the skull

After i had done the above studies i did another sketch and really pleased with it. :D rally feel the muscular and skull studies has improved my sketches

Aside from that ive still been working on my Rembrandt Digital value sketch. Thats about half done. Then ill prob do a couple more of these and some color studies. then once i feel ive acheived a basic understanding of value and color i can continue onto the next stage of my Aye Aye project!! So excited!! Also had another idea for a character brewing which i may start tomorrow. collected so much reference stuff for it today :D

Where ive been

Hi guys. Im blogging from my phone dor the first time to try it out. 

Unfortunatly i wont have my links at the bottom of thos post as i have them saved on my pc but ill work on that and get it sorted if this post goes well

Anyway im sorry i havent posted in 2 weeks. Had alot of crap going on i had to sort and ive been really poorly. I know thats not an excuse but i have been working on my art too

Been knuckling down on getting my technical skills sorted 

Ive started a value study of atembrandt piece

Its going well but i have alot to do before im happy.

Done some other pieces but they are on my pc. Only got this cause i sent it in an email to a friend for a crit so i was able to download it

Will post others when im back at a computer
